We are excited to collaborate with you and appreciate your interest in participating in our event. Our festival celebrates African cinema and culture, and we are committed to creating a vibrant and memorable experience for our attendees.

As a vendor, you will have the opportunity to showcase your business and connect with a diverse audience of film enthusiasts, community members, and industry professionals. We are looking for African and African-ancestry serving vendors who offer a variety of products and services to our community.

Partnering with us is a great way to expand your customer base, increase your visibility, and support a meaningful cause. Together, we can make our festival a success and contribute to the promotion of African culture and art.

Rules and Conditions

Please read the following rules and conditions carefully before submitting your application.

  1. Vendor setup time: 8AM to 9:30AM. No vendor will be allowed to setup after 10:00AM.
  2. Sign-in: Our event Registration desk will open at 10:00AM. Make sure you sign-in, so we can formally record your participation.
  3. Space allocation: Each vendor will have a pre-assigned booth space (approx. 10×10) and MUST setup in their assigned spots. DO NOT switch spaces or extend your display beyond your assigned space without getting clearance from event staff.
  4. Canopy: Vendors must bring their own canopies, display stands, tables and chairs.
  5. Amplified music: Vendor booths will be in close proximity to the stage with presentations going on throughout the day. Music or any type of amplified sound will not be permitted in the vendor booths.
  6. No Alcohol/Drugs: This is a Family event. Use of alcohol and or drugs of any kind is PROHIBITED.
  7. All vendors MUST strike and put away their displays, including canopies, tables and chairs, no later than 7:00PM.
  8. Safety: All vendors are responsible for proper safeguard and security of their property. We will have security services during the event, but it is your responsibility to keep an eye on your items. Event organizers, sponsors, partners will not assume responsibility for lost or damaged items in your booth.
  9. Loading and unloading: Vendors are able to pull up and TEMPORARILY park in front of Historic Hoover Theater, 1635 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA 95126 in order to unload. Note that FREE all day parking is available in the parking lot next to the theater. ALL VEHICLES MUST MOVE BEFORE 10:00AM to avoid a hefty fine or tow.
  10. Assistance and Support: If you need assistance anytime during the event, contact event staff members to help you.
  11. Vendors must participate on both days of the African Market — Saturday and Sunday.
  12. Event organizers reserve the right to terminate your participation in this event at any time if found in violation of any of the above stipulations or for displaying merchandise that the organizers find inappropriate and out of line with our program, or for behaviours that event staff deem disruptive or unsafe to other attendees.
  13. By submitting this form, you acknowledge an understanding of and agreement to the above stated rules and conditions for participating in the Silicon Valley African Film Festival's Marketplace.
