Samuel Kangethe Ngigi AKA MC KAH grew up in DANDORA one of Nairobi’s toughest Inner City Estates. As a Teenager MC KAH was attracted to Acrobatics, Poetry, & Music and became part of one of Kenya’s Biggest Hip Hop Crews “UKOFULANI MAU MAU”. The Groups music hit the Kenyan and the World Music Scene by Storm and with their success came Money & Fame. While many in the Group used their earnings to better themselves materially, MC Kah used his own Money, Music and Exposure to help the Youth in his area by starting a Cultural Centre & Youth Movement called “MAONO “(The Vision). With the aim of nurturing, training & Exposing the Talent of the Youth around him. The Documentary Film “MAONO WA MC KAH” is a first person account of the rise of Hip Hop culture in Nairobi as well as the story of his vision to establish and run The Maono Cultural Centre and Sauti Ya Mitaa Recording Studios.
